Audi scored its second win on the trot in very difficult conditions in the Bathurst 12 Hours, the biggest grand touring car event in Australia.
The rain, fog and several neutralizations made the race a tough one to read. However, the Audi R8 LMS driven by Germans Christer Jöns and Christopher Mies and Darryl O’Young from Hong Kong overcame the difficult conditions to take the chequered flag from the Stade-Bleekemolen-Hackett-Curtis Mercedes-Benz, the Sun-Baird-Griffin Ferrari and the Tinkler-Johnson-Richards Porsche.
It was the second win on the trot for Audi, Phoenix Racing and its drivers Mies and O’Young on the mythic Mount Panorama circuit. An accident eliminated the second Audi driven by Australians Luff-Lowndes-Eddy.
