With the arrival of the Group C regulations in 1982, sports cars underwent a major evolution that led to some of the most fantastic endurance racers the world has ever seen. Porsche was the first manufacturer to take up the challenge with the 956. This is the first book that has been really dedicated to this car, which was the benchmark in Group C between 1982 and 1986 before being replaced by the 962C. After ‘917, Sketches of Success’ unanimously acknowledged as a major triumph, Reynald Hézard has tackled another epoch-marking car, the Porsche 956, that he explores in his own way. This time he was helped by David Legagneux who plunged into the archives of the era to extract a goldmine of information. More than 500 illustrations retrace the history of all the different chassis of the era backed up by a large number of photos, summaries of every car and a report on their racing appearances. In fact, all the ingredients that made the first book such a success! In the preface, driver and engineer, Jürgen Barth talks about the car which he helped to develop. This book is a must for all endurance lovers, model makers, Porsche fans and for all those who love beautiful cars.

- Jean Rondeau, a man’s tale 1946-1985, by Michel BONTE
Published in May 2010, 2000 copies. Format : 27x27 cm, 192 pages – over 200 photos many unpublished. Preface by François Fillon. (FRENCH)
- Jean Rondeau died on a wintry afternoon in December 1985, but he left an indelible mark on his era. To date, the demanding, stubborn Frenchman from Le Mans is the only driver/constructor to have won Le Mans at the wheel of his own car. This was on 15th June 1980 and he shared this unique success with Jean-Pierre Jaussaud. Thirty years later Le Mans Racing was delighted to offer all his fans a book linked to all the ceremonies celebrating this very special anniversary. To tell this ‘man’s tale’ Michel Bonté interviewed all those who took part in the Rondeau adventure. The author talked to mechanics, drivers and close collaborators of the driver/constructor from Champagné, who began his career in Gordinis followed by the Inaltera saga, the 1980 Le Mans triumph and the arrival of Group C. The author, a sports journalist at the daily paper, Le Maine Libre, joined Le Mans Racing when it was founded in 2001, and he has put the Sarthois in the place he deserves in the Le Mans 24-Hours Hall of Fame. Thanks to numerous friends he has also illustrated each of the 24 chapters in this book, the first in the Le Mans Racing Collection, with many previously unpublished photos. The 45 prototypes built by Rondeau that entered for the 24 Hours between 1978 and 1988, supply the best-possible homage to the amazing creativeness of this self-taught lover of motor racing.
